On February 11, 2024, twelve members signed up and attended a complimentary special kimono workshop by Ms. Tomoko Ishibashi from Ishizuka shachu.  Ms. Ishibashi graciously volunteered her expertise and time to our Tankokai.  She is a licensed “kitsuke” teacher from the Yamano school and has been involved with many kimono shows in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. 

We were extremely lucky to have her share tips to look nicer wearing a kimono. She explained and demonstrated how to correctly wear the undergarment (juban), kimono, and obi. It was a great opportunity and learning experience for members to ask questions and pick up a few pointers on correcting problem areas.  

Everyone was anxious to try some of the newly learned techniques when wearing a kimono at our next tea gathering.
